Misschien wel Londen het werd dan misschien gebombardeerd door vliegtuigen maar er vielen V1's en V2's op.

Tjah als je om tonnen bommen en liters brandstof moet kijken. Berlijn is een kans hebber.

Hij werd al van af 1940 gebombandeerd. Had stevige huizen. En ze werden vaak gerepareerd en op nieuw gezet. Daarom, was schade bettrekkelijk klein. (70%). Als al die bommen op 1 of 2 dagen zou vallen. Zou er niet veel van overblijven!

Als ik zou moeten gokken zou ik kiezen tussen Hamburg of Berlijn, maar de cijfers heb ik ook niet. Ik had ooit een boekje waarin een kaartje stond met de hoeveelheid tonnages bommen er op de grote (Duitse) steden gedropt werd. Het was geleend dus ik heb het niet meer maar als iemand het heeft, het was een klein pocket boekje, met voorop een blauwe lucht met B-17's.

Berlijn wat ik kon vinden:
1,000 B-17 bombers of the Eighth Air Force, protected by P-51 Mustangs attacked the Berlin railway system on February 3, 1945.

During the battle of Berlin, the British lost 1,047 bombers, with a further 1,682 damaged, culminating in the raid on Nuremberg on March 30, 1944, when 94 bombers were shot down and 71 damaged, out of 795 aircraft.

En nu ff rekenen. 1 B-17 kon tot 2700 kg bommen meedoen, dit wordt dus 2700 ton aan bommen op Berlijn de 3de februarie alleen al...

Berlijn is wel een ver doelwit, dus ik ze zullen niet met een 2700 kg bommen beladen zijn. Eerder rond de 2000 kg lijkt me, misschien wel wat meer. Maar de bom lading hangt ook af van welk type bom gedropt werd, waardoor het nooit precies op dit getal zal uitkomen.

In Cologne itself, the reaction of the civil defence force was slow. This was the 105th time in the war that air raid sirens had indicated a bombing raid. When it became apparent that this was a raid, the bombers were already dropping their bombs. The initial attackers had dropped incendiary bombs on the old town and the fires in it made targeting far easier for those bombers still coming in. Only 4 bombers were lost in collisions over the city. The intensity of the attack was such that the final run of bombers could see the glow of the flames of the city 100 miles away. Smoke from the fires rose 15,000 feet. Such was the density of the smoke, the RAF could not get any decent reconnaissance photos of the city for one week after the attack. The attack destroyed:

600 acres (300 acres of the city centre)

13,000 homes were destroyed

6,000 homes were badly damaged

45,000 people were made homeless

The city suffered 5,000 casualties, including 469 deaths
