Maar als je gewoon zijn naam in Google ingeeft vind je niets dat iets met de persoon te maken heeft.
Het enige dat ik weet is van deze persoon is dit:
enTech Sgt. R.M. Fugil indicated that he was an airplane mechanic on the U.S.S. Wasp, and told some stories about putting some shot up planes back together with tape and paint because he couldn't get the adhesive dope to set up under the tight circumstances. He (or his wife) also indicated that he was at Guam, and though made no direct reference to it, had the 3rd MAW patch in with his uniform.
Maar ik ben hier niet zeker van...He was likely a member of VMA-217. On February 16, 1945, the squadron took part in a raid on Tokyo as part of Task Force 58. Taking off from the USS Wasp (CV-18) they, along with their sister squadron VMF-216, participated in an attack on the airfields at Yokosuka and Tateyama.
After the Tokyo bombing, the squadron went to Iwo Jima to provide close air support for the Marines on the ground during the battle...
grtz.
