Dear Sepp! (short for Josef)
I'm writing this letter in the name of my husband though I think you expected a letter from him. I think though you're satisfied with a letter from me as well. You know Sepp, he's not a great writer of letters and
especially regarding the matter with Ursel (short for Ursula) he understands you but he can't write it same as Ursel. Them two have one and the same character. Not bad, but
2
to me a bit weak that's why one can't be mad at them. Look, Sepp, you may have thought that Karl and I are mad ad you. We aren't, I myself know that you're a good and ernest man. But I don't want to
laud you, that's just my true opinion on you. Also I leave the fate of my girl to you. Just one thing I have to make clear, I'm not blind over the mistakes of my kids. Without the two little ones, which don't
know the severity of life yet. Please don't get this letter wrong again. I'm maybe a bit severe and tough in everything but please blame that on my very hard and loveless youth.

I hope though, you'll learn to know me a bit better now. Now about Ursel. A few weeks ago I heard that Ursel was seen standing with a "Siedlerjunge" (not sure what that is, either a Volksdeutscher from the
east who resettled in the Reich or a foreign worker) She will explain to you personally what happened, but i write to you honestly, everything popped like a soap bubble. I'm not so dumb to not be a woman
and find out what happened. Jealous gossipers and badness have been fed there. Unfortunately I was ill, a bad thing with the abdomen. Your sister Gitti even cleaned up for me. Down with my nerves and very sensitive in this matter

I've beaten the girl so much she always said: "Mother, you're doing me wrong." Look, Sepp, I didn't care then. Her friendly being was misunderstood. I know, she has more than just friendly feelings for you
because she often said, "I'll call Sepp sometime". Now she did it, the call just costed her 6.30 Mark. One thing i tell you honestly, she isn't bad or spoilt, I don't want to loud her to you, it comes
how it will come. Frau WUnsch is very satisfied with her she told me, but I wan't leave her there. If you don't take her back to your heart I will bring her away from Eisenach. I won't be mad at you, neither will Karl.

Also I'm not mad at your sister. We have talked everything out, Ursel was there as well. Gitti herself told me when she was told what, I never should have known anything about. Say Sepp, why? Because these people know me, tacitly I wouldn't accept something like that. Never would I accept something like that as my girls rep is suffering from that. I immediately went after the stories. She always came home at normal times in the evening. Because of little tests I know she always came from work. I did it to give myself peace. The girl has to stay decent.

She says I'm right so she accepts that we want her best. I think I can also give you a little peace with this. Right, Sepp, life is not easy. But there's an old saying:"anticlimaxes attract each other". With Karl and me that is true. Now I think I have written enough und think you're not mad at me anymore. What about easter? Me and Karl would like to talk to you again. You're welcome! But whatever you decide, it's okay with us.
With heartly greetins we remain your Eisenachers.
You're a nice guy after all
