Hallo iedereen,
Ik was vandaag bij een verzamelaar en hij liet me een helm zien die HIJZELF van een boer in de ardennen heeft gekregen 5 jaar na de WO2.
Maarnu dit is een para helm maar met de rechthoekige vaste haken ipv de D-bales. Ik dacht echter dat para enkel D-bale had maar dus blijkbaar niet.
Werd dit gedaan wegens tekorten?
Er is geen twijfel over de originaliteit!

Heb het al, het is een vroeg (eerste) model M1C.
Uit collectors guide 1 : "The later model (M1C parachutist's helmet) had the special paratrooper's chinstraps sewn on standard M1 helmets with square fixed loops. The second type M1C helmets were made with shells fitted with movable chinstrap loops."
