american helmet containing captains field hat

during a visit to camp Buchenwald Germany an American helmet was found containing a field dress hat from a captain. On the helmet was painted in big letters OKF. The 6th armored division of the 3rd Army liberated Buchenwald april 15. 1945. Does anyone know what the meaning is of the letters OKF on the helmet?
