Sovjet WOII verzameling Asjemenou + nieuwe aanwinsten

Hallo,

Ik heb uit een boek in het Tsjechie's dat de benaming voor de RGD-33 granaat 'Ruchnaya Granata Degtyaryova' is. En dat de ontwerper/bedenker van deze granaat Vasily A. Degtyaryov is geweest. Vandaar de naam. Steel-granaat-Degtyaryova.

Of is dat boek verkeerd.
Ik heb op mijn site de benaming uit het boek wat ik heb gebruikt. Als het de benaming moet zijn die jij in je post hebt hoor ik dat graag.

RGD-33 staat voor "Roetsjnaja Granata Djakonova (of Engels getranslitereerd Ruchnaya Granata Dyakonova) obraztsa 1933 goda", wat "Handgranaat (niet steel- of staafgranaat) van Djakonov van het model 1933" betekent. De ontwerper was M.G. Djakonov.

De RGD-5 bijvoorbeeld was wel van Degtjarjov (dus Roetsjnaja Granata Degtjarjova). Ik weet alleen niet of daar wel de beroemde wapenproducent Vasili Aleksejevitsj Degtjarjov mee wordt bedoeld... Hij was een vuurwapenproducent en Degtjarjov is een veelvoorkomende achternaam in Rusland.

Beside the Polish soldiers who fought in the west under British command during WWII, Polish soldiers also fought under Soviet command at the eastern front. The Polish soldiers in the east were formed into the 1st and 2nd Polish Peoples Army (Ludowe Wojsko Polskie). Both peoples armies took part in the liberation of Poland. They were also involved into the battle of Berlin.
Polish soldiers took part in many battles during WWII. Many people are also liberated by them. It is been said that they were passionate soldiers. Many of them who fought in the west under British command could not return to Poland after the war. The former (communist) Polish government called them traitor’s/defectors. These soldiers had no other choise than to live their lives in exile. Many of them never saw their Polish homeland back.

A few years ago I put up a story at this forum about an inheritance of a Polish WWII veteran. This veteran served in all probability in the Polish 2nd Corps in Italy. Hereby I like to put up the story again. As some kind of tribute to this almost unknown Polish soldier. Until today the items from his inheritance still fascinates me.
The badges, medals and belt shown at the pictures below are from his inheritance. The aunt of an acquaintance of mine was married with a Pole. This Pole, a WWII veteran, is already passed away for many years. His Dutch wife passed away nearly ten years ago. After her decease they cleared out the house and these badges, medals and belt were found. These items where given to me. The family of my acquaintance asked me or I could find out his past because they are interested in it. The Polish veteran seldom spoke about his past, so for them a little is known about him. According to the badges and medals I gather the following story; After the German invasion of Poland in 1939 the Polish veteran fled to France like so many other Poles. The army belt from his inheritance could be from his own Polish pre war uniform. In France he joined the new-formed Polish Armed Forces. He was incorporated with the Polish 2nd Rifles Division (Dywizja Strzelcow Pieszych). This Division was sent to support the French forces on the Maginot line near to the German Swiss border. During the German invasion of France in 1940 the Polish 2nd Rifles Division fought together with the French 45 Corps at Clos du Doubs. After heavy fighting’s and being cut off by the advancing Germans, the French 45 Corps and the Polish 2nd Rifles Division were backed up to the Swiss border. The French commander decided to withdraw to Switzerland, where they were interned. For taking part in these fighting’s he should be decorated after the war with the French medals. His in-laws are confirming his stay in Switzerland because they know that he had a relationship in that time with a Swiss woman. The Huguenin brothers at Le Locle, Switzerland manufactured the 2 Polish eagles from his inheritance in 1941. How long he stayed in Switzerland is unknown. Probably he escaped from Switzerland or the Polish government in exile bought him out because according to his in-laws he was also in Italy during the war. The small Italian commemorative badge of the Polish 2nd Corps can confirm his stay in Italy. Or he had taken part in the battle for Monte Cassino is not known. How the Polish veteran came to Holland is not very clear. Right after the war the Dutch government had the rule that for every killed Polish soldier in Holland, one Polish veteran may live in Holland. Probably he was one of these Poles that may live in Holland. It should be a very clear explanation how he met his Dutch wife. According to the family of my acquaintance, more medals should have been conferred to the Polish veteran. They do not know were the other decorations gone to. Maybe they were already given away to somebody else or they just lost in time. In fact I do not have any further personal information about this Polish veteran.
The Sikorski institute in London does not give any information to anyone who is not a close family member of the veteran. Even his in-laws have no change because they do not have the same (Polish) family name as him. In all probability the story of the Polish veteran will be unknown forever.

Ik zag je Russische WOII verrekijker met bijbehorende draagtas.
Ik heb thuis pressies ook zo iets liggen van heel heel lang geleden dat nog in goede staat is.

Kan jij mij hierover iets meer vertellen? Heeft u hier interesse in?

Mijn indruk is dat de verrekijker op de foto niet van (Sovjet) Russische makelij is. Of het moet nadrukkelijk op de verrekijker staan vermeld. Meestal staat er bij de exportmodellen dan wel iets van "Made in USSR" of "Made in Russia" op. Verrekijkers bedoelt voor de eigen markt zullen dan vaak een Cyrillische naam- en typeaanduiding hebben. Ik vermoed dat de verrekijker/opbergtas een Japans (export) product is.
Ook heb ik niet de indruk dat de verrekijker bedoelt is voor militair gebruik. Verrekijkers worden tenslotte ook civiele doeleinden gemaakt en gebruikt. Denk hierbij maar aan boswachters, scheepvaart en vogelspotters.

Zomaar even een vraagje aan asjemenou en/of andere sovjet verzamelaars. Mij lijkt sovjet militaria ook een interresant verzamelgebied, dus zou ik jullie willen vragen waar je het beste sovjet militaria kunt kopen. Ik heb al wel wat op internet zitten rondkijken, maar daar vind ik niet heel erg veel (webshops en dergelijke). Hebben jullie misschien een tip voor mij waar ik het het beste kan kopen (beurzen, winkels, ebay etc.)

Op Nederlandse militariabeurzen kom je Sovjet (WOII) militaria niet zo gek veel tegen. Espenlaub militaria is wel een vrij bekende Sovjet militaria webshop. Zie; http://www.aboutww2militaria.com/ .

Qua beurzen zit je als snel in Duitsland neem ik aan? Is er in België ook wat te vinden op beurzen of weet je dat niet?

Op de militariabeurs van Ciney (België) staan meestal wel enkele Oost-Europeaanse handelaren die Sovjet-Russische militaria verkopen. Al is voorzichtigheid ook hier geboden want net als met de overige WOII militaria wordt de Sovjet-Russische WOII militaria ook flink vervalst, bestaan er veel naoorlogse varianten en reenactment reproducties. Veelal "Made in Russia".

Ok bedankt. Ik heb al veel gevonden op ebay.com maar dat zal ik eerst vragen (als ik iets van plan ben te kopen) aangezien ik er nog niet heel veel verstand van heb.

Op Nederlandse militariabeurzen zul je inderdaad erg weinig Sovjetmilitaria vinden. Dat geldt trouwens ook voor Marktplaats. Je zult dus over de grens moeten gaan kijken, zoals op eBay (.de en .com). Omdat Sovjetmilitaria een mijnenveld is - diverse deelgebieden zijn net zo erg als Duitse militaria - adviseer ik je om zo veel mogelijk kennis op te doen alvorens je iets koopt, en zoek een verkoper met een degelijk retourneringsbeleid. Bestudeer ieder naslagwerk dat er ooit is uitgegeven. Registreer je ook op http://soviet-awards.com/forum/index.php. Dit is hét westerse forum over onderscheidingen en andere militaria van de Sovjet-Unie. Pluis dat forum uit, want hoe meer afbeeldingen van originele stukken je hebt gezien, hoe makkelijker je vervalsingen kunt onderscheiden van het echte werk. En ten slotte kun je altijd vragen stellen aan andere verzamelaars voordat je besluit tot aankoop over te gaan.
