This is a GREAT group to a combat veteran who fought in the European Theater during WW2!
This fellow served with the 3rd Army (with Patton!) and the 36th Engineer Combat Regiment! The 36th saw a LOT of action, fighting through Italy, making amphibious assaults, fighting alongside the First Special Service Force (FSSF) up through Southern France, into the Battle of the Bulge and over the Rhine, into Germany! Although they weren't designated as infantry, they fought as infantry! They were probably the most combat experienced Engineer unit during WW2 - they saw more heavy fighting than many actual infantry units!
This group consists of the Ike jacket with decorations and patches, his shirt, hat, trousers, and leggings!
The Ike jacket is a size 38R and is in fantastic shape! It has the 3rd Army patch on the right shoulder, the 36th Regiment on the right! It has sergeant rank on both sleeves, three service bars on the left cuff with a service stripe! It has Engineer collar brass on both collars, and five ribbons on the chest - for the Purple Heart, Army Good Conduct, American Campaign, European Campaign and WW2 Victory! They are all pinback, but are just as the vet left them on the jacket!
The other items also came with the jacket, and are in very good condition with the exception of the shirt, which exhibits some mothing.
The uniform group is ID'ed, and the name and service number of the Sergeant is in the collar of the shirt!!!
