On the http://www.aefsupply.com/ website I found something that looked like the tin you posted here. It's not exactly the same but I think your tin is also to store hardbread. Maybe my colleges can help out?

Similar box, but this it is not this my type.
I bought two such boxes "The nourishing food thataids digestion" and one standard "Emergency Ration". They come from polish soldier who fight in the West in Polish Army.
I wonder: this is British or American tin?
