WW2 British Airborne Forces Silk Recognition Scarf

Mijn nieuwste aanwinst is de gele recognition scarf, gebruikt door de Britten in Oosterbeek voor herkenning vanuit de lucht!!
Helaas hadden de piloten van de supply drops de order alleen supply's af te werpen boven de SDP(Supply Drop Point), de parachutisten werden wel gespot door de C-47's en Stirlings maar enkele dropte hun lading bij de Britten in de omgeving rond ze vochten in de perimeter!!
Vele gebruikten het sjaaltje ook als recognition voor op de grond onder de troepen zelf, Sgt-Larry Ansell 2nd Battalion's B Company arrived (boek) staat duidelijk afgebeeld met het recognition sjaaltje op z'n smock bevestigd en rechts van hem nog een parainfanterist met het sjaaltje om ze linker smock bovenzak bevestigd.
Original WW2 heavy yellow silk triangular recognition scarf. Made by Courtalds Ltd and dated 1941. These scarfs were originally designed for wear by Tank Commanders for recognition but were adpoted by the British Airborne Forces. Scarf is in mint unissued condition. Rare bit of Airborne kit in fantastic condition
